Recovering lost funds could be a delightful surprise, especially when you need it most.
After a career in sales, marketing, and publishing, and not ready to retire, David Pazin started Clydesdale Partners in 2013. The purpose of the business was to assist people and businesses whose money had been turned over to the government due to inactivity in their accounts (unclaimed money). Since its inception, David has successfully recovered over $3.2 million for clients residing in eight different countries around the world.
In an industry where each state, financial institution, and government body has different protocols, expertise in navigating this complex web of regulations is essential. We focus on reducing time and providing the correct documentation to streamline the process. There are no upfront fees, and we only request the personal information necessary to recover your money. We prioritize professionalism and privacy in all our services.
Many prospective clients ask Clydesdale Partners similar questions. Below are some of the most common ones to help you understand our services. If you have additional questions, please contact us at unclaimedmoney@tpg.com.au.
Our business focuses on searching for unclaimed money and recovering it on behalf of the rightful owner. During our search for current clients, we may come across additional funds. If you have received our letter, we believe you are likely the owner of these funds. Our research utilizes various publicly available platforms and databases. We must comply with Australian laws that protect your privacy and your rights as a consumer throughout the recovery process.
If you wish to proceed with the claim process yourself, you are welcome to do so. However, due to the Privacy Act, we cannot provide you with any information we may have. As part of our due diligence, we must ensure we are speaking to the right person and have verified your ownership and identity. The recovery process is complex. We know how to locate elusive documents and whom to send them to. Most people prefer to let us handle the legwork for them.
Clydesdale Partners' fee is 15% plus GST of the amount recovered. Once the money has been recovered, it is placed in a trust account where the CP fee and 10% GST are deducted. A statement is prepared showing the amount recovered, any interest received, the total amount less the CP fee and GST, and the net amount that the client can either have deposited into their account or receive as a banker's cheque, which will be mailed. Please note that fees are only applied if the money is recovered—no recovery, no fee! What you are receiving is experience and expertise.
All institutions have different protocols for proving ownership. Generally, you will need to provide certified copies of documents that prove your identity and link to the last postal address the institution had on record. Suitable documentation may include a driver's license, rates notice, utilities bill, birth certificate, passport, or Medicare card. If the money belongs to an estate, a certified copy of the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration must also be provided.
A certified copy is a photocopy of an original document that has been signed as a “true and correct copy” by a Justice of the Peace or a similar authority. Certified copies are required to ensure that all documents submitted to support a claim are authentic.
The process typically takes between six to eight weeks after the documentation has been submitted. Processing times can vary by institution, and additional documentation may be requested. We will keep you informed about the status of your claim. In this case, “no news” is generally good news.
If the funds are never recovered, there is no fee.
Please contact us so we can update our records and ensure you no longer receive any correspondence. If you believe you know the correct person (or next of kin), let us know so we can reach out to them directly. Alternatively, you can forward our contact details to them if preferred.
This is likely why the funds are unclaimed in the first place—due to a lack of action. If you choose not to take any steps, the funds will remain unclaimed and may eventually be retained by the government, making them the only beneficiary.
